  • New Gallery: Death Valley, California
New Gallery: Death Valley, California Here's another small update with some photos taken recently in Death Valley, California. For those of you looking for more abandoned industrial stuff, this isn't it. (sorry!) But if you're interested in landscapes of the American Southwest (everything from mountains to deserts), you might enjoy these. You can access the gallery directly from this link: http://invisiblethreads.com/potd/collections/2007_dv/

  • New Gallery: Buffalo Grain Elevators
New Gallery: Buffalo Grain Elevators It's been a long time since there's been an update! While I was out in Death Valley recently, I scraped some time together after the sun went down to compile a gallery of photos taken last year in Buffalo -- specifically of the grain elevators. You can access the gallery directly from this link: http://invisiblethreads.com/potd/collections/2006_ge/ For the near future, scheduled galleries include: the Valley of Fire (near Las Vegas, Nevada), the ghost town of Rhyolite, and shots from Death Valley.

  • Forgettable Buildings (new project!)
Forgettable Buildings (new project!) The Forgettable Buildings project has started and is now online at http://fb.invisiblethreads.com. Since I stopped updating the photoblog I've been looking at starting up another project and I'm ready to get this one going. Note that there is a new URL for the RSS feed for the project and it's located at this address: http://fb.invisiblethreads.com/rss.xml Do feel free to stop by and have a read/look. The format is a cross between a blog and forum and I encourage anyone with opinions to participate. The introduction to the project can be found here: http://fb.invisiblethreads.com/introduction

  • New Gallery: Lakeview Generating Station
New Gallery: Lakeview Generating Station There's a new industrial building gallery online -- the Lakeview Generating Station. Lakeview GS is the first coal-fired generating station shut down in Ontario, Canada as a result of an environmental mandate. Just over a month ago the four 150-meter tall exhaust stacks were imploded signalling the beginning of significant site demolition. I had a chance to photograph this location almost 6 months ago and more recently before the stacks demolition. It's a huge place filled with very large scale industrial equipment. Additionally I able to make it to captured video of the stacks demolition. As always, I hope you enjoy the photos and look forward to any feedback!

  • Laid Bare
Laid Bare This would be one of those overall wide-angle boring shots that show the place in its entirety, with nothing left to the imagination. Andrew's got the reverse angle here.

Update July 30 2006: I've added a gallery of photos from this location. The gallery is available here: Lakeview Generating Station gallery.
