Do you have information about XYZ? PDF Print E-mail
If we did, it would be posted. The best ways to get information:

  • Ask the upperclassmen at your school.
  • Scour the archives of your school paper; this is easy if they're online.
  • Take a look at what information your school makes public as far as plans and maps go. Check the website of the Office of the Physical Plant, or Facilities Management, or whatever they call them at your school (the people who do the serious maintenance and often groundskeeping work, as opposed to regular janitors.
  • Have friends who are janitors and such. These people often know things, and sometimes even have special access privileges.
  • For both campus and the city, check the local records office. In most places blueprints etc. must be on file, and according to the Freedom of Information Act...just remember it helps to have a good cover story because if someone thinks you're up to no good they'll stonewall. Say you're working on a school project about municipal infrastructure or some such.
  • Check the library, both public and university. You'd be surprised what kind of great arcane information you can dig up even without much effort.
  • Surf the web for people who have been there, done that. And your best bet...
  • ...Get out there and explore it yourself! And then set up a website or contact us about hosting your info, photos, etc. Share the wealth!
