Underground is an email based group of people around the world with one thing in common. We are all curious about all things that are under ground. Man made only, however, so no natural caves or anything like that. Our primary interest is college campus steam tunnels. But we've expanded our topic to include practically everything associated with urban exploration. If you have an interest in the behind the scenes activities of people like utility workers, construction crews, security teams, and the like, or have a passion for going where you probably shouldn't be, just to see what there is to see, then Underground is probably for you.

Underground made it's debute in 1997 on the Userhome.Com server. Due to the popularity of the subject, the listowner decided to move Underground to it's own domain. A search was made for domain names, and unfortunately the domain name "underground" already existed in all three top level domains. Because the direction of the list has taken on more than just a discussion about steam tunnels, it was decided that urban exploration in general was as good a place as any to serve the list needs. So the Urban Explorers Network was born, and with it UrbanExplorers.Net.
